Cherry is the wood of choice for Stanley Birch, who lives just north-east of Toronto. He and his wife just had a cherry kitchen installed and they also have a lovely cherry Grandfather clock. When it came to choosing a wood for his new Phoenix Organ, it wasn't a difficult decision.
The new 44 stop, three manual French-style console will be in cherry wood, with brass hardware for toe pistons and expression pedals. The four specifications will be English Romantic, Baroque, French and orchestral.
The organ is expected to be the first to come out of the new Phoenix facility. A progress pic of the organ is at right.
