This English-style console was built by Phoenix Organs in Canada with design based on many features of the Harrison and Harrison console in the Chapel of King's College, Cambridge, England. The long-draw drawstops are placed in dual columns for each division and this makes the console much higher than typical American-style consoles. The bone and ebony keyboards are by UHT in Germany.
Playing this organ is a wonderful experience and very reminiscent of the famous English Cathedral organs due to the fine acoustic of the church and English romantic samples on the first specification. The second specification switches to French pipe samples.
The fine tradition of musical ministry at First Christian Church is carried on by Mark Miller who is also the Vice-President of Field Operations for the re-nowned Bedient Pipe Organ Company. Bedient also built the outstanding new pipe facade shown below. Also pictured at the console from left to right are three Anderson boys: Donald, Mark and James, of Phoenix Organs .
