With a strong Lutheran tradition behind it, St. Philip's originally wanted a good pipe organ. The cost for the size of instrument needed was going to be too high and the lengthy process of comparing electronic church organs was started. It resulted in the unanimous decision to choose a Phoenix organ with 6 ranks of used pipes added. A new balcony has been constructed for both the pipes and speakers. The pipes were installed and voiced by Andrew Mead, organ technician.
