ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST ANGLICAN CHURCH

Elora, Ontario
Hybrid Project

Another feather in Phoenix Organ's cap, is the hybrid project at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Elora, Ontario. This Karn-Warren/Casavant organ is considered a gem by many across Canada, as it is heard often on CBC Radio. The Elora Festival Singers, under the direction of St. John's Director of Music, Noel Edison, is heard at the church every year as part of the Elora Festival.

Phoenix Organs added 24 sampled stops to the pipe organ therefore expanding it's capabilities. Phoenix Organs worked with organist, Jurgen Petrenko, and collaborated with Casavant Freres representatives, Dodington and Dodington on the project. Pipe and sampled stops blend seamlessly as is the case with all Phoenix hybrid projects.

"I just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know how much we are all enjoying the Phoenix additions to the Casavant organ in St John's church, Elora. Michael Bloss, Mathew Larkin, and Paul Halley were our guest organists at this summer's Elora Festival, and they share my enthusiasm. As you know, I have been a committed pipe purist for all my life. However, your electronics blend so seamlessly with the pipework and add so much to the instrument that I would whole-heartedly recommend your work to even the most discerning organist."
