ST. PAUL'S UNITED CHURCH

MIDLAND, ONTARIO, CANADA
4 Manual Phoenix Hybrid Concert

The opening concert of the new 4 manual hybrid organ was on Saturday, May 15th. Phoenix Organs and Mead Pipe Organ Services collaborated on the installation which has 23 stops from a 1960's Hallman and 47 Phoenix stops. You can read more about the organ further down on the Installations page of this website.

Christopher Dawes, pictured at top right, was the guest recitalist who finished with a thrilling Toccata by Canadian composer Denis Bedard. Phoenix Organ's Donald Anderson opened the concert with a demonstration of the orchestral specification. He played Karg-Elert's Praise the Lord with Drums and Cymbals, with, of course, Brass, Timpani and Cymbals.

Centre right are from left to right--Phoenix Organ's James and Donald Anderson, Andrew Mead, St. Paul's organist Paul Sloan and Committee Chairman, Nick Frans. Chris Dawes is seated at the console.
